S’busiso Mtolo, a Grade 11 learner from Unitas Secondary School, obtained a second in the U18 Free State closed chess championships that were held on 15 and 16 August at St Andrews School in Bloemfontein. He has qualified to compete in the 2025 Mzansi Inter- Provincial Youth Chess Championships in December.
