THABONG – A man was found brutally murdered in an open field near a bridge in Nkoane Road, Oppenheimer Park.
The body was discovered on Saturday 1 August.
According to police, officers responded to reports of a possible murder and, upon arrival, were directed to the motionless body of an unidentified man. He had sustained multiple head injuries and a stab wound to his back.
Emergency Medical Services personnel declared the man dead at the scene.
The deceased, believed to be in his mid-30s, has not yet been identified.
The circumstances surrounding the killing remain under investigation, and Thabong police have opened a murder case.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have information that could assist the investigation or lead to the arrest of the suspect or suspects to come forward.
