Three fighters of the Legends Morganti Ju-Jitsu Welkom martial arts school represented the city at the Martial Arts South Africa (Masa) National Championships that were held in Pretoria on 14 and 15 June. This prestigious event hosted over 700 competitors in various martial arts styles from across the country. It was a weekend filled with high-level competition, skill and sportsmanship. From the left are Juan Fourie (2 gold medals and 1 silver medal), Sensei Desmond Smyth (1 bronze) and Johan Wilken (2 bronze). “They fought with heart and determination. The discipline and effort they put in during training clearly paid off at this national event,” said Sensei Desmond Smyth, head coach of the school.
