On Friday, 20 June, the Free State MEC for Health, Monyatso Mahlatsi, conducted a visit to the Lejweleputswa District.
He inspected two health facilities: Bophelong Clinic and Leratong Clinic in Allanridge. These clinics were closed in April 2025 due to a prohibition notice issued by the Department of Employment and Labour, citing non-compliance with health and safety regulations.
During his visit, Mahlatsi also toured the Kutlwanong District Hospital in Odendaalsrus, as well as the SCM Store located in the Lejweleputswa District Office, which suffered damage from a fire in May 2025.
This visit highlights the ongoing efforts of the Free State Department of Health to address compliance issues and assess the impact of recent incidents on healthcare services in the region.
