On 31 January three runners from Sibanye Stilwater Athleics Club took part in the Kimberley Meerkat Marathon over 21 km.

Three runners from Sibanye Stilwater Athletics Club delivered outstanding performances at the Kimberley Meerkat Marathon on 31 January, competing over the 21-kilometre distance with remarkable success. The club achieved a clean sweep of the top three positions, demonstrating their dominance in the half-marathon category.

Siya Derrisson led the charge, claiming first place with an impressive time of 69 minutes, showcasing exceptional endurance and pace throughout the challenging course. Potso Khomo secured second position, finishing strongly in 73 minutes, whilst Sabata Khagane rounded out the podium places with a third-place finish, also recording a time of 73 minutes.

The trio’s performance at the Kimberley event highlights the strength and depth of talent within the Sibanye Stilwater Athletics Club, with all three runners demonstrating the high-calibre training and competitive spirit that characterises their club. Their collective success at this established marathon event reflects not only individual athletic ability but also the quality of their preparation and club support systems.
