WELKOM – Welkom’s own celebrity DJ and entertainment personality, DJ Taaibos, has been nominated for the fifth Annual Central Music Awards (ACMAs), set to take place at Old Greys in Bloemfontein on 28 November.

DJ Taaibos has been nominated in the Best Deep House DJ category, following the release of his second house single, “Saseka”.

The track features Welkom-based Andrea De Beatboxer, as well as Thabo “Bundle of Joy” Mokone, co-host and presenter of the Re Ya Thella Afternoon Drive Show on national radio station Lesedi FM.

The nomination follows DJ Taaibos’ previous international recognition.

His first house single, “Our Time (Part 1 of 2)”, earned him a nomination at the Southern Entertainment Awards (SEAs), held in Atlanta, Georgia, in America in May 2025.

Both “Our Time (Part 1 of 2)” and “Saseka” are available internationally on major digital music and social media platforms.

The releases are distributed by American-based, international music distributor VerseOne Distribution, which has an active international distribution agreement with DJ Taaibos.

Born and raised in Vergenoeg, a suburb of Bronville in Welkom, DJ Taaibos has built a diverse career in the entertainment industry.

He is also an events coordinator, model coach and agent through his own agency, Belladiosa Talent and Media Agency, which now operates across South Africa and neighbouring countries.

He is also a radio DJ and presenter at the Welkom-based radio station Gold FM.

With another major nomination under his belt, DJ Taaibos is hoping for strong support from his hometown and fans across the region as he competes for the Best Deep House DJ award.
