The weekly parkrun takes place at 08:00 at the St Dominic’s College sports field, located at 85 Jan Hofmeyr Road. This is a free, fun and friendly community event. Walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate. Access via the Volks Road entrance.

The Deeper Life Central Church, led by Dr Joyce Ngcizela, has pitched a tent and is fellowshipping with members of the public every Sunday between 10:00 and 14:00 on the corner of Phakhathi and Nkoane Road in Oppenheimer Park. Nasionale Tuindag word by Maraisstraat 4, Hennenman, gevier, met ‘n teetuin ten bate van die Rushof-outehuis in Hennenman. Dit word tussen 10:00 en 15:00 gehou. Kom geniet heerlike, tee, koffie of iets koels en varsgebakte verversings in die rustigheid van ‘n pragtige tuin.

The Red Carpet Upstairs Flea Market will be held at the old bowling club in Toronto Road, Welkom. To raise awareness for breast cancer, Anglo Crane Hire has painted one of their cranes pink and the funds raised during the day will go towards providing 600 elderly people with Christmas gifts. 25 October
The Cancer Community Centre in Welkom will host its fourth Fight Night, with exciting fights lined up for the event. In addition to the trading of leather, there will also be a beauty pageant held for both male and female participants. There will be stalls (food and goods), a kid’s corner, and a cash bar. A Mighty Men conference is held at Budu Game Lodge, Welkom. Entrance and camping is free. Praise and worship will be led by Riaan Lubbe, while speakers include: Johnny Louw, Ockie Fourie, Warren Schultz, Pieter Viljoen and Sarel Oberholzer. For more information, dial 079 308 1401.
