At the Free State Hunter’s Association prize-giving that was held on 15 October in Bloemfontein, local businessman Andrew Phytides (photo), won the club record on trophy competition for red lechwe, the Free State competition for blesbuck and common reebuck, he received advanced hunter’s status and he won the plains game competition. The other members of the Goldfields Hunters Club who featured are: Michaela Strydom (first place, junior chasa sport shooting competition), Rachelle de Jager (overall women’s senior), Angela Cloete (girls overall winner), Elri Coetzee (overall girls U14), Juandré Folkes (overall junior boys) and Ruben Fourie (airgun junior winner). Kulu de Jager (chairman Goldfields Hunters Club) won overall senior men’s, and is included in the Chasa’s interbranch shooting team.
