ALLANRIDGE – The Police in Allanridge have launched a murder investigation after a 61-year-old woman was found dead at her home in Nyakallong on Monday.

Police received a complaint at about noon after the woman failed to report for work and could not be reached by her colleagues. They alerted her daughter, who then sought assistance from the police.

Officers were dispatched to the woman’s home to investigate. Upon entering the premises and searching the house, police found the woman motionless on her bed, with her hands and feet bound with rope.

Emergency Medical Services were summoned to the scene and declared the woman deceased.

The motive for the murder remains unknown, and no arrests have been reported at this stage.

Police have appealed to members of the public who may have information that could assist investigators in identifying and arresting the perpetrator or perpetrators to come forward.

Police have assured informants that all information will be treated with strict confidentiality.
