The Welkom Publicity Association (WPA) monthly flea market will change its trading times for the winter months and will from June onwards operate between 09:00 and 14:00 on the second Saturday of every month.
Melandré Nel, spokesperson for the WPA, says this change has been made following requests received from exhibitors at the previous monthly flea market regarding winter trading hours.
“The controlling body conducted a poll among exhibitors, and over 90 of them voted in favour of a later opening time during the winter season.”
She says after careful consideration, the following decision has been implemented:
■ The market gates will remain open at all times.
■ Public entry to the market will commence at 09:00, and continue until 14:00.
■ In cases where clients need to collect products before 07:00, special permission may be granted to the relevant exhibitors. Exhibitors enter at their own risk.
■ Exhibitors are advised that toilets and other services will only open later and will no longer be available from 06:00.
■ Please note that there will be no security on site between 06:00 and 07:00. Exhibitors entering during this time do so at their own risk.
