Anonymous Kutlwanong resident:

It is alleged that the councillors of Matjhabeng are responsible for the misuse of the community responsibility grant that was meant to fix the Kutlwanong graveyard’s ablution block, security guard house, paving, fence and gate by the contractor three to four years ago.

It is alleged that the councillors appointed their friends to do minor work for fixing Kutlwanong graveyard facilities.

And it is alleged that the contractor gave them (councillors) an amount close to 2 million to do the whole work.

The community of Kutlwanong is unable to use these toilets, especially the women during burial services. The toilets have been vandalised and there is no water there.

The gate cannot be closed, the paving was stolen, the security guard house is also vandalised and the fence is broken.

We, the community of Kutlwanong, want the respective councillors of wards 10, 18, 20, 21, and 22 to account to the community what happened to the alleged money given to them.

The construction company must confirm how much money he gave to the Kutlwanong councillors. Not one of the councillors who have been implicated have given the community a report on the money and the work that was done to the graveyard facilities.

They are hiding their corruption. Councillors are not permitted to handle service delivery money; administration is the one that is allowed to do the whole work.

The community has seen that the Kutlwanong councillors have bought expensive cars and others have built houses in a short period of time.
