Members of the Harmony Striders club participated in the Bioforum Rose Run in Bloemfontein and the campus race of the Central University of Technology (CUT), Free State, in Welkom on 9 May.

At the Bioforum Rose run Morne Nel, Deon Lodder and Andre Els completed the 32km race. Christien Els and Rina Nel ran the 10km, while Antoinette Bothma took part in the 5km event.

In the CUT’s 21.1km half-marathon in Welkom, Chadiba Mahasa, Jacques du Preez, Amelia du Plessis, Barry Greenshields and Cornelius Visagie crossed the finish line.

The 10km race saw Eric Mariti, Micheal Molahloe, Gerald Sullivan, Bernadette de Costa, Kershney Nortman, Adel Henderson, Mavis Motaung, Wilemina Sullivan, Zanyiwe Fixane, Luyanda Fixane, Thompho Muthelo, Lientjie Blom, Yvonne Visagie, and Deleen van Rooyen compete.

In the 6 May time trial, 10 runners completed the 8km course.

Monyane Raliengoane recorded the fastest time at 32:06, followed by Reggie Mokhosi at 47:21. Others include Amelia du Plessis (47:30), Andre Els (47:44), Andre van Niekerk (47:25), Johan Rheeder (47:47), Cornelius Visagie (53:10), Johan Pretorius (65:00), Deleen van Rooyen (71:00), and Yvonne Visagie (71:00).

Five completed the 4km trial: Reggie Mokhosi (15:55), Kananelo Sejentu (16:21), Jacob Tseko (23:46), Rina Nel (25:35) and Lientjie Blom (31:31).

The Engen Toy Run scheduled for 30 May has been cancelled due to the withdrawal of sponsorship.
