Last week the world remembered and acknowledged the crucifixion and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
It is necessary that we acknowledge too the meaning and implications of this perfect sacrifice, lest we forget the purpose for which Jesus Christ came and died and rose from the dead.
Psalm 103:2-5 says: Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none of his benefits; who pardons all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases; who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with loving kindness and compassion; who satisfies your years with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle.
It is essential that we acknowledge and receive all of these in order for us to live out the function and purpose he has designed for us.
We are forgiven, healed, made whole, redeemed, renewed and then He, as Ephesians 2: 6 says, “…raised us up together with him [when we believed], and seated us with Him in the heavenly places, [because we are] in Christ Jesus.”
This speaks of the joint authority He has given us to fulfil the mandate of Matthew 28:18-20.
He reassures us that He is with us in this until the end of the age.
Perhaps the benefit that brings us the greatest peace, joy and fulfilment can be considered to be the truth that we are hidden in Him (Col 3:3), united with Him (Romans 6:5), and that as Acts 17: 28 states, “For in Him we live and move and have our being.”
We have been filled with the same Holy Spirit who raised Jesus Christ from the dead, and us with Him.
It is this reality that enables and empowers us to live a life of surrender in adoration of our King.
We can rejoice because we know that we are not living from a place of our own strength, but from rest in the one who has already accomplished this all on our behalf.
May we experience the revelation of the reality of what it means to know Him and find our life in Him. – Lana Archontakis of the Kingdom Ministries
