The Welkom Commercial Crime Investigation Unit is appealing to the public for assistance in locating Mika Ramosoeu (34), who is sought as a person of interest in a fraud case involving the alleged fraudulent purchase of a vehicle.

Ramosoeu is believed to be connected to a reported case in which a silver Volkswagen Polo valued at R162 000 was allegedly acquired fraudulently from a car dealership in Welkom. According to police, the incident occurred on Tuesday, 23 December, when a 46-year-old business owner sold the vehicle to a customer. However, the proof of payment provided by the purchaser was subsequently discovered to be fraudulent, as the funds did not reflect in the business’s bank account. Investigators believe that Ramosoeu may be able to assist police with their inquiries into the matter. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Ramosoeu to come forward and assist with the investigation.
