The Tambo Chiefs Football Club that is based in the Tamboville area in Kariega has been crowned the league champions of the Local Football Association for the first time since its establishment.

After it went defunct a couple of times, 2009 being the last, former players decided to come together to re-establish and re-awaken the sleeping giant.

The club was re-established and renamed Tambo Chiefs from Jumbo Chiefs in 2016 and those collective efforts led to the club finishing second in the league in 2019 on goal difference.

Club management came together and planned for a post-COVID life and those efforts led us to win convincingly the 2022/23 league season.

The club has unfortunately fallen short of promotion to the regional league at the recently held play-offs.

The management, technical staff and players would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude for the continuous support that they are receiving from the club Supporters, Tamboville community and broader Kariega community.

The club structures starts from U/13, U/15, U/17, U/19 and seniors for men. We are in the process of establishing a ladies’ team with the same age groups.

Any prospective player, parent or member of the community that would like to join and/or support the club can contact Benjamin Tom, head of administration, on 071 483 4744.
