Despatch Heritage Picnic organiser, Siphosihle Ntseta says locals can look forward to a fun-filled day of food, rugby and live entertainment.

Despatch locals are in for a treat as the Despatch Heritage Picnic has been announced to happen on Saturday, October 28, just in time for the 2023 World Cup Rugby finale.

“Patrons can look forward to lots of fun and entertainment from national and local artists, a live screening of the finale in the evening, food stalls and much more,” the event organiser, Siphosihle Ntseta said. “Interested food vendors can send a WhatsApp text to 083 974 4758 for more information. Despatch and Kariega food vendors are encouraged to apply with their COA,” she added.

The event will be jam-packed with an impressive line up including artists such as Biggy, Qwabe Twins, Temple Boys, Lusanda Gospel group, Raven Blue, Nokwazi, King Jade, Baby Joe, Mr. Vee Sholo, Rhass, Pastor the DJ, and Skelem. There will also be local acts like DJ Syolie, Sasso Vlet, John Black, DJ Dowza, Fona, DJ Dowza, Padda, DJ Skhura, Steve & Man D, Maxify, Thobz, DJ Yoko & Afro Jeans.

The MCs for the the day will be Michelle, Makaziwe, Yarees, Aviwe and TA Fire.

Ticket prices are R200 before the event, R250 at the gate and an additional R70 for cooler boxes, and are available on webtickets, Pick n Pay and Boxer stores. The picnic will take place at the WJ de Wet Stadium in Despatch from 10:00.
