By keeping your kidneys healthy you are looking after your entire body. Your Kidneys serve as the filter in your body that gets rid of all the toxic waste. Therefore, healthy kidneys mean a healthy body.

On Saturday, 26 March, Just Property Uitenhage in partnership with Renal Wise Society will be hosting a “Walk for a Cause” in aid of Kidney Awareness month, at the popular Innibos on the outskirts of Despatch.

A Colour Fun Run will start at 08:00 with the registration at 07:30. Participants are encouraged to wear an old white T-shirt as you’re bound to get colourful. The trail is about 4km and you’re more than welcome to walk it out with your friends and family.

There will also be food & beverages stalls, jumping castles for the kids, face painting, local artists, a SANBS blood drive, lucky draws, as well as talent and modelling competitions.

The entry fee is an honesty box donation, this means that there is no entry fee but any monetary donations are welcome and will be donated to The Renal Wise society.

“The Renal Wise Society serves as a pre-dialysis clinic, where education and awareness are key to kidney health,” said Sister Elize Deerling Boesak, founder and chairperson of The Renal Wise Society.

“The society helps inform the public about the signs of kidney disease, what the risk factors are and what causes kidney diseases. We also do kidney screenings, not only here, but also at factories, schools, and other institutions in promoting kidney health.”

The Solidarity Fund will also be present on the day and donations in the form of good used clothing as well as blankets will be welcomed.
