AS with all things, change is inevitable. Throughout all changes Strelitzia High School has soared from higher-to-higher heights and grown from strength to strength.
In the latest change, Ian Balie has been appointed as the new principal of Strelitzia High School and officially started on 1st September 2021, a new, fresh season.
Balie moved to Kariega in the late 70s and has always been serving in education. A qualified and experienced Geography and Mathematics educator, he started in 1995 at Nkululeko Finishing School in KwaNobuhle. Over the course of 18 years he learned his education management skills at this institution.
In 2013 he was appointed to St. Colmcille Public High School in Kirkwood and in January 2020, Balie joined Gamble Street Secondary School.
“I really see myself together with the Strelitzia staff and honestly speaking reaching the heights I know we can reach,” said Balie.
The school and its community welcome Balie to Strelitzia. “We are looking forward to a productive, fruitful, and long journey with Mr Balie and want to assure him of all our support as the SMT, staff, non-teaching staff, hostel staff, learners, parents and the SGB.”
