A 70-year-old cyclist was fatally injured following a collision with a Quantum taxi at 07:30 yesterday morning, Wednesday, June 22.
Police spokesperson, Capt. Gerda Swart, said that the driver of the Quantum was allegedly travelling in Durban Street, Kariega and the cyclist was travelling from the direction of John Street when the two parties collided.
The cyclist, Majidu Siela, passed away at the scene.
“Uitenhage detectives are investigating a case of culpable homicide,” Swart said.
