Supermarket chain calls for return of latest selected yoghurt products

The National Consumer Commission (NCC) has alerted consumers to a safety recall of selected SPAR yoghurt products following a machine malfunction during production.

Which products are affected?

The recall covers five product lines: SPAR Fat Free Yoghurt, SPAR Low Fat Yoghurt, SPAR Double Cream Yoghurt, SPAR Indulge Double Cream Yoghurt and SPAR Active Drinking Yoghurt. The affected products carry a sell-by date of 9 August 2026 and a use-by date of 12 August 2026. They were sold nationally through SPAR stores from 15 June 2026.

What went wrong?

SPAR informed the NCC that a machine malfunction during production caused product blowing, which may result in changes to the taste, smell and appearance of the affected products. Consumption may cause stomach upset.

What should consumers do?

Consumers who have purchased any of the affected products should not consume them. Return the products to your nearest SPAR store for a full refund or exchange.
