Reddam House Durbanville is celebrating another exceptional set of Cambridge International results, with its Grade 11 students earning 210 subject distinctions in the June 2026 IGCSE examinations.

Two recent graduates achieved outstanding A Level results.

A total of 59 Grade 11 students sat for Cambridge International IGCSE examinations across 17 subjects, producing 369 individual examination results.

The cohort achieved an overall IGCSE grade average of 79%.

Ten achieved A* aggregates

Ten students achieved an A* aggregate and a further 20 achieved an A aggregate, meaning that 30 students — 51% of the class — completed their IGCSE examinations with an A or A* aggregate.

Across all individual subject results, 25% were above 90%.

Nine subjects recorded aggregate averages above 80%, with a further six achieving averages between 70% and 80%.

Leading the IGCSE results was Neil Madeleyn, who achieved a 95% aggregate, including 98% for mathematics and chemistry and 96% for accounting, biology and physics.

Michael Hamdulay achieved a 94% aggregate, earning 96% in mathematics, computer science and chemistry, and 91% in French. Etienne Louw achieved a 93% aggregate, including 96% for accounting and 94% for mathematics, biology and physics.

Jejoon Kim, Alexander Smit and Jessica Kellerman each achieved aggregates of 92%. Jejoon earned 96% for mathematics, Alexander achieved 97% for physics, and Jessica recorded 97% for literature in English.

The school’s other top IGCSE performers were David Lee, with a 91% aggregate and 97% for mathematics; and Uzair Adam, Mia Jooste and Sebastian da Mata Rodrigues, who each achieved 90% aggregates. Uzair earned 96% for mathematics, Mia achieved 93% for art and design, and Sebastian recorded 97% for mathematics.

Accelerated A Level success opens doors

Outstanding A Level results have secured places at leading international universities for Youkyum Kim and Nicholas Janser, with Youkyum setting a new academic record for Reddam House Durbanville.

Youkyum achieved a combined A Level aggregate of 97% — the highest in the school’s history and the first time a Reddam House Durbanville student has reached this milestone.

He earned 97% for A Level physics and 96% for A Level further mathematics, having already achieved 98% for A Level mathematics in November 2025 and received Cambridge’s Top in South Africa award for the subject.

He completed physics and further mathematics in just six months rather than the usual year and has received a final offer to study for a BA in mathematics at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom.

Nicholas also completed his A Level studies on an accelerated six-month timeline, beginning his preparation immediately after completing his AS Level examinations at the end of 2025.

He achieved 91% for A Level accounting, 80% for mathematics and 77% for biology.

Double degree

He is now set to pursue a double degree in economics and econometrics at Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands, one of Europe’s leading institutions in economics and business.
