A social media post about a woman who allegedly bit off her boyfriend’s penis caused a stir on social media this morning.
The story which was posted on Facebook in the wee hours of the morning claimed that a woman took a bite into crime on 6 May when her 24-year-old boyfriend proved not to be an upstanding citizen.
The report by What’s happening in Paballelo-OomToor claims that the woman, allegedly fed-up with her boyfriend’s infidelity, tied him up while he slept and then bit off his penis, in Eastridge, Mitchells Plain.
Allegedly, the man died of significant blood loss while the woman was arrested.

Facebook spread
Commenters were quick to the trigger and by 09:00 this morning the story had been shared nearly a hundred times and had dozens of comments and reactions — ranging from likes to wows.
One woman said: “No hard feelings.”
Another asked: “My aarde, slaap hy dan so vas.”
A third said: “Yoh! Sies man.”
Real or not?
But cracks in the story soon emerged. People familiar with the area noted that the picture looked fake. Another questioned why the man had reportedly been taken to Groote Schuur, which is nearly 30km away, for treatment when the closest hospital is actually in the area.
When TygerBurger reached out to crime fighters from the neighbourhood watch in Eastridge, no one had heard of the incident. The Community Police Forum was equally puzzled by the report.
Police later confirmed that no such report had been made.
Provincial police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk said: “Mitchells Plain police has no record of the mentioned matter.”
