Western Cape police are appealing for information that could assist their investigation into the murder of four people whose charred bodies were discovered metres apart in Du Noon on Sunday afternoon.

Police said Milnerton officers were called to the N7 off-ramp on Malibongwe Drive, where they found the burnt remains on an open field adjacent to the road. The bodies had been burnt beyond recognition.

Investigators determined at the crime scene that tyres had been used to set the victims alight. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, and the motive has not yet been determined.

A murder docket has been opened and detectives from the serious violent crime unit are investigating.
