The Western Cape police have confirmed that four suspects were arrested and will appear in court today after a farm attack in Clanwilliam over the weekend.
Getaway vehicle
According to a statement by G24 Security, the company was informed by the police of the attack and arranged for additional resources. The getaway vehicle was spotted on the road to Wolseley and was stopped. The four suspects were arrested and the stolen property was recovered.
The name of the farm was not disclosed and at this stage it is unclear whether anyone was injured.
According to Sergeant Wesley Twigg, police spokesperson, Clanwilliam police registered a house robbery case for investigation following an incident on a farm in Clanwilliam on Saturday evening, 22 August, between 20:30 and 21:00.
“According to reports, unknown suspects entered the premises, tied the victims up and took jewellery, bank cards and other equipment before fleeing the scene. We can confirm that the adult male suspects were arrested and the stolen items were recovered. They will appear in court once they have been charged,” says Twigg.
Other attacks
At this stage it is unclear whether the suspects arrested for Saturday’s attack are also responsible for other farm attacks that took place in the Wolseley area in recent weeks.
