A London Village pensioner’s late night code scanning won him R12 000.
Pierre Fransman of Mitchells Plain scanned the PULSE code in this paper, answered a three-question survey, and walked away with R12 000 in the monthly lucky draw.
Fransman is a regular TygerBurger reader who says he eagerly awaits the paper every Wednesday. The 56-year-old said he scanned the PULSE QR code “more than 50 times” and was delighted with this win because he enjoys the paper’s “content and variety”.
“Sometimes, I’d wake up in the middle of the night and then I would just enter a few times,” he said. “This is the first time I won something so big. I’m really grateful. It really comes in handy.”
Monthly draw
“The draw is running again this month, and entering is straightforward,” said a Novus Media spokesperson. “Find the PULSE ad in the paper, scan the code with your phone camera, answer the survey. It’s two or three questions and takes about two minutes. Every survey you complete puts your name in the draw, so if you do it all four weeks, that’s four entries instead of one.”
The questions are simple and are aimed at helping TygerBurger get to know its readers better.
“The questions are about where you live, the shops you use, the services you get, what you think about things happening in the area. Answering costs a small amount of data, not much more than opening a photo,” the spokesperson said.
When you scan, you’ll also be asked if you want to join the PULSE loyalty programme. Members get sent extra competitions during the week.
“PULSE will give away R2 000 in grocery vouchers every week to a lucky loyalty member, on top of the monthly R10 000,” the spokesperson said.
August winners
Fransman was among five winners for the month of August, Bulelwa Ngcana, Allan Coltman, Carmelita Larney, and a PULSE loyalty member who chose to remain anonymous. Each of them won R2 000 in grocery vouchers. You could be a winner too. Look for the PULSE ad in this week’s paper and scan the code.
