Cape Town gamers are set for a major esports showdown as the MTN SHIFT Gaming Experience arrives at Table Bay Mall from 10 to 12 July, bringing three days of competitive gaming, live challenges and prize-winning opportunities to centre court.
The event forms part of one of South Africa’s largest mall-based gaming tournaments, giving players of all skill levels the chance to compete in an accessible and high-energy environment.

Three-day gaming showdown
The MTN SHIFT series features an overall prize pool of R350 000, with competitors battling it out across multiple titles and formats during the in-centre event.
Players will compete for mall-level prizes as well as qualification spots for national finals later in the year.
The competition began on 5 July with the EA FC 26™ online qualifier, where the top four players will secure automatic entry into the Table Bay Mall finals.
The winner of the mall final will receive a R2 500 Table Bay Mall gift card and advance to the national football final at Canal Walk in August, where a R50 000 prize pool awaits.
Second and third place will receive gift cards worth R1 500 and R1 000 respectively.

Multiple gaming formats featured
Beyond EA FC 26™, the weekend event will include a variety of gaming experiences such as Beat Saber, a Fighting Cup featuring Brawlhalla, Tekken and Street Fighter 6, as well as free-play gaming stations.
Visitors can also look forward to a dedicated PC Gaming Zone and a Keyboard Rebuild Race, adding interactive and skill-based challenges for participants.
The MTN SHIFT Gaming Experience forms part of an eight-centre national series, with winners from each mall advancing toward the national finals.
Other upcoming venues include Clearwater, Capegate and Canal Walk, each hosting both online qualifiers and in-centre tournaments throughout July and August this year.
