A young man, in his twenties, were lucky to have sustained only moderate injuries when his car collided with a pole along the N1 outgoing near Plattekloof Road this morning.
Spokesperson for ER24 Werner Vermaak, said paramedics from ER24, Fire and Rescue and Life Healthcare arrived on the scene shortly before 05:00 this morning (Friday 1 March) where they found the car completely ripped open. The driver was still in his seat. He was assessed and found to have sustained only a broken leg and a few scrapes and bruises. Paramedics treated him on the scene and later took him to a nearby hospital for further care.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident is not known, said Vermaak.
