The man tried to make his way home but collapsed from his injuries on the corner of Merrydale and Lavender roads and died.
Three men killed
On Wednesday, at about 20:00, Western Cape anti gang unit detectives investigated a shooting incident that left three men dead in Westridge. The incident is believed to be gang conflict-related. Provincial spokesperson, Brig Novela Potelwa, said the gunmen fired multiple shots at the men, aged 20, 23 and 32, and fled in a vehicle.

Traffic officer assaulted
In the early hours of Friday 19 September, an off-duty traffic officer was assaulted and robbed
Authorities were first alerted to his assault when his vehicle was discovered abandoned along Baden Powell Drive near Eisleben Road.
According to City Traffic Services spokesperson, Maxine Bezuidenhout, a patrolling officer came across the vehicle just before 06:30. The car was empty, but bloodstains were visible inside and the ignition key had been broken off.
The discovery triggered an immediate response. The South African Police Service, the City’s Safety and Security Investigative Unit and Information Management Service (SSIU and SSIMS), were notified.

An aerial search was launched over the area, while SAPS K9 and Search and Rescue teams conducted a ground sweep.
Provincial media liaison officer Capt Frederik van Wyk said a 30-year-old man approached officers at the scene and said he was the owner of the vehicle a short while later. He had been assaulted and robbed and was injured.
The man, who is an off-duty traffic officer, was given medical attention.
Police have opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, said Van Wyk.
