Lentegeur police arrested three men in Woodlands in separate incidents involving firearms and ammunition.
Saturday arrest
On Saturday 17 October at 18:15, the Lentegeur crime prevention unit was patrolling in Selena Way when officers saw a man exit a passageway and hand a firearm to another man in the road. The second man placed the firearm in his tracksuit pants and ran towards Soccer Street, crossing the field to Dune Street, said Lentegeur police spokesperson Const Navon van Houten.

Officers pursued the suspect and drove around the field into Dune Street, where residents pointed them towards a property. Police looked over the wall and saw the suspect hiding in the yard. They caught him and found him in possession of a 9mm Glock firearm without a serial number and 17 rounds of ammunition. He did not have a valid firearm licence and was arrested and held at Lentegeur Police Station. The firearm and ammunition were confiscated as evidence.
