Goodwood Rugby Football Club (RFC) proudly celebrated its 85th anniversary with a memorable day of rugby, camaraderie and community spirit on Saturday 20 June.

The celebrations kicked off at 07:30 as Goodwood RFC and its junior teams took to the field against long-time neighbours and friendly rivals, NTK Connect RFC, in the clubs’ annual derby fixture. Throughout the day, players of all ages showcased their talent and passion for the game, creating an exciting atmosphere for supporters, families and rugby enthusiasts.

The day culminated with the highly anticipated first team clash at 16:00, bringing together two clubs that share a long-standing rugby relationship built on mutual respect, healthy competition and community values, said Danielle Neethling, spokesperson for Goodwood RFC.

Following the final whistle, players, supporters, past members and invited guests gathered to celebrate the milestone achievement of Goodwood RFC reaching 85 years of service to rugby and the local community.
