Brackenfell man missing after e-hailing trip from city centre

A 34-year-old Brackenfell man was reported missing after failing to return home from an e-hailing journey from his workplace in Cape Town CBD yesterday evening, 14 April.

Juan-Louw Greyling departed the city at approximately 17:45 when his girlfriend, Chantel Rossouw, arranged a trip for him through the e-hailing platform.

“His phone was on the blink and in for repairs, which is why I ordered the trip for him. The driver arrived in a white Volkswagen Polo hatchback, and I watched as they departed,” Rossouw told TygerBurger this morning.

When Rossouw herself returned home at 21:30, she discovered that Greyling had not arrived.

“Since he didn’t have his phone with him, I contacted app support and learnt that the trip had been cancelled after eleven minutes, with the driver having been unreachable since then,” she explained.

Greyling is of average build, 1.69 metres tall, with green eyes and dark brown hair. He bears a tattoo of a small star on his ankle. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a white golf shirt, beige khaki shorts, and beige trainers.

Anyone with information to assist police in their search can contact Brackenfell police at 021 980 5720 or Crime Stop at 08600 10111.
