In a significant move towards grassroots development and organisational excellence the Bothasig Amateur Football Club (AFC) has underscored its commitment to youth football by enrolling and qualifying 31 junior and mini-coaches in the official Safa/CAF D Licence Coaching Course.
The intensive course, which ran throughout October, concluded on Sunday 1 November with a comprehensive practical assessment held on home soil. To fulfil the practical requirement of the qualification, Bothasig AFC hosted approximately 50 youth players, giving coaches direct, hands-on experience in executing structured drills, age-appropriate coaching frameworks and match-scenario sessions under official supervision, said club spokesperson Natasha Veldsman.
Setting a benchmark in the Tygerberg region
As local football associations increasingly emphasised formal accreditation and compliance across all competitive tiers Bothasig AFC is setting a benchmark within the Cape Town Tygerberg Local Football Association region, Veldsman added. By ensuring its junior and mini section coaches are formally certified the club ensures young players receive high-standard tactical, technical and holistic developmental guidance from their earliest playing years.
