Police have asked witnesses to come forward after the gruesome discovery of a man’s body in a field in Montclair.

Lentegeur Police Station spokesperson, Const Navon van Houten, said that on Saturday 1 August, officers were called to the scene in Montclair after a man, believed to be about 25 years old, was found dead in an open field by passersby.

The black man was found lying on his stomach with open wounds on his head.

Van Houten said he had stab wounds on his head and stomach.

He was wearing blue tracksuit pants and a light grey top. He had no shoes on.

A case of murder has been opened for investigation.
