The Fisantekraal Centre for Development (FCD) in Durbanville is looking to recruit job-shadow partners to host some of the centre’s enterprise development students for a three-day job shadow.

The centre appeals to individuals or businesses (big or small) with a knack for entrepreneurship to host students in specifically the Business Skills and Sew For Profit programmes, at no cost to the company.

“If any business – big or small – or entrepreneur would like to host a student, that would be amazing. It’s a great way to provide a beneficiary of FCD with an opportunity to grow and to learn and you can host a learner without interrupting your day-to-day business,” says Jane Gelderman, CEO of the FCD.

Gelderman says job shadowing is also a great way to screen potential staff.

“Our current needs list also include volunteers across various areas, a smart phone in working order, carpentry skills and some DIY projects that can be tackled as a group or team volunteering project.

“We are also looking for hospitality job shadow partners, it could be a laundromat, a B&B, hotel or any of the above.

“We cannot thank the greater FCD community enough who strengthen and enable us to do what we do. We are thankful that 2022 will be a good year during which we anticipate to impact even more lives,” Gelderman says.

FCD has many volunteering opportunities and is also looking for placement opportunities for their already trained students.

“This includes, but are not limited to, retail, office basics, frail care and hospitality industries.

“We are so thankful for the greater Durbanville community who takes hands with FCD. These valuable partnerships, enable us to make sustainable impact in the lives of the most vulnerable,” Gelderman says.

Businesses and entrepreneurs interested in supporting the centre with job shadowing and placement can call the centre on 021 976 7764, send an email to info@fisantekraal.org.za, or WhatsApp to 078 439 0026.
