A municipal ward bi-election will be held on Wednesday 23 October to select a new ward councillor for Ward 8 of City of Cape Town.
Ward 8 includes mainly Brackenfell as well as a part of Kuils River (Soneike).
The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) announced the voter registration weekend for the by-election will take place on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 September to give residents an opportunity to register and/or update their registration details.
City of Cape Town Ward 8 voting stations include:
- NG kerk De Eike, Soneike;
- Bastion Primary School;
- Youth for Christ Kids Stop;
- DIe Gemeente met Oop Deure;
- Brackenfell Community Church; and
- Curro Brackenfell Private School.
The vacancy was caused by the resignation of the ward councillor. Currently, the number of registered voters in Ward 8 is 23 339.
