Tyger Valley Public Library has reopened to the public following a temporary closure for essential maintenance and improvements during November 2025 and February 2026.

The library, which has served the community from its shopping centre location since 1988, underwent significant renovations including new carpets, fresh paint, and a refreshed layout designed to better serve patrons.

During the closure period, staff rearranged shelving and removed non-circulating items to create additional space for programmes and events. The library also conducted a comprehensive inspection of items on the shelves as part of the maintenance process.

Despite being closed to the public, library staff continued to assist patrons during the renovation period by managing book returns at the front door and offering a small selection of books for immediate borrowing.

Services resume

The library officially reopened on Monday, 23 February 2026, with staff welcoming visitors back to the upgraded facility. All regular services, including in-library browsing, access to the full collection, and on-site programmes such as children’s storytelling, have now resumed.

The improvements are expected to enhance the library experience for the community, providing better facilities for both individual study and group activities in the refreshed space.

Tyger Valley Public Library’s temporary closure allowed for these comprehensive upgrades whilst ensuring continued support for patrons through alternative service arrangements during the renovation period.

The newly renovated TygerValley Library is open to the public again.
