Tyger Valley Library buzzed with excitement on Thursday 19 March as local author Caitlyn J Marzyl celebrated the launch of her fantasy novel “A Flicker of Truth” in an intimate gathering that drew more than 30 book enthusiasts.
The successful event was a collaborative effort between Tyger Valley Library staff and The FRIENDS of Tyger Valley Library, who worked together to create a welcoming atmosphere. Guests were treated to refreshments including juice, coffee, tea, and finger foods throughout the evening.
The cosy library setting provided the perfect backdrop for what proved to be an engaging literary celebration, with those in attendance showing genuine enthusiasm for Marzyl’s work.
A highlight of the evening was an insightful interview conducted by Cornita Phelps, a staff member from Bellville Library, who served as the discussant. Her thoughtful questions provided visitors with deeper insights into the author’s creative process and the themes explored in the fantasy novel.

Book readily available to readers
Library-goers were delighted to learn that Tyger Valley Library already has copies of “A Flicker of Truth” available for borrowing, allowing readers to continue their literary journey immediately.
The library has announced plans for another book launch in April 2026, featuring author Hannah Botsis and her work “A Clergyman’s Daughter.” The library encourages the community to attend this upcoming event.
