The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate has commenced with roadworks along Hindle Road, from Westbank Main Road to the bridge over the Kuils River, near Brentwood Park.
The work is planned to take place from Tuesday, 20 January 2026 until Friday 27 February during the day between 08:30 to 16:30, and from 20:00 to 04:30 at night, Sunday to Friday, weather permitting and provided there are no unforeseen delays.
Gravel shoulders
“The roadworks primarily involve upgrading the gravel shoulders and maintenance beneath the bridge over the Kuils River,” said Mayco member for Urban Mobility Rob Quintas. “Towards the end of February a brief section of the road, approximately 20 m, will be temporarily reduced to half-widths for resurfacing to improve the riding surface and keep Cape Town moving. I would like to thank residents and road users for their patience and understanding in the course of these roadworks.
“The City of Cape Town recommends road users be cautious while work is underway, lower their speed, pay attention to road signs, be vigilant in and around the roadworks area, look out for uneven road surfaces and be mindful of construction workers.”
