A young swimmer of Barracudas Aquarama in Durbanville won four silver medals and two bronze medals at the NMBA inter-district gala held in Gqeberha on 10 January.

Simon Tredoux (10) was part of the Cape Town Aquatics team of 25 boys and 25 girls from all over the Cape metropole who took part.

Four districts competed, stretching from the Cape to East London — Cape Town Aquatics, Eden Aquatics, Nelson Mandela Bay Aquatics and Buffalo City Aquatics. Simon came second in the 50 m breaststroke, 50 m freestyle as well as in the 200 m freestyle relay and 200 m medley relay.

He won bronze medals for a third place in the 50 m backstroke and 100 m freestyle.

He is trained by his coach, Coenie van Graan, from Barracudas Aquarama.
