After nearly three decades of global success, Ireland’s beloved family band The Corrs are finally making their way to South African shores. The iconic quartet will bring their Talk On Corners Summer 2025 Tour to local audiences this November, marking a historic moment for both the band and their South African fanbase.

South African music lovers will have not one, but two opportunities to experience The Corrs live. The tour kicks off at SunBet Arena, Time Square in Pretoria on 22 November, followed by a second performance at Grand Arena, Grand West in Cape Town on 25 November.

This marks the first time the legendary Irish group has performed in South Africa, making it a truly special occasion for fans who have been following their music since the mid-1990s.

The story of The Corrs begins in Dundalk, Ireland, where four siblings formed what would become one of the most successful pop-rock groups in the world. The sibling quartet consists of Andrea on lead vocals, piano and tin whistle, Sharon on violin and vocals, Caroline on drums, piano and vocals, and Jim on guitar, keyboards and vocals.

Emerging in the early 1990s, The Corrs created a unique sound that masterfully fused contemporary pop with traditional Celtic folk elements. This distinctive musical blend set them apart in an increasingly crowded music landscape and became their signature calling card.

The band’s breakthrough came with their 1995 debut album, Forgiven, Not Forgotten, which became a global sensation and established them as a force to be reckoned with in the international music scene.

However, it was their 1997 follow-up, Talk On Corners, that truly catapulted them to superstardom. This record-breaking album spawned some of their most beloved hits, including Runaway, their breakout single that showcased their Celtic-pop fusion, What Can I Do, a heartfelt ballad that became a radio favorite, So Young, an uplifting anthem that resonated with fans worldwide, and Dreams, their iconic cover of the Fleetwood Mac classic that introduced them to a new generation.

These songs, along with many others from their catalog, helped The Corrs sell over 40 million albums worldwide and become radio favorites across Europe, the United States, and beyond.

After taking time away from touring, The Corrs made a triumphant return to the stage in 2023 with performances in Southeast Asia and Australia. The success of these shows led to sold-out arenas across the UK, Ireland, and Europe, proving that their magic remains as potent as ever.

Reflecting on their Talk On Corners tour, Andrea Corr shared: To be able to honour Talk on Corners with a tour all those years later was truly amazing, and to follow that with a summer of outdoor shows has been incredible.”

Caroline Corr emphasized the album’s life-changing impact: “Talk on Corners really changed our lives… There was a time when Radio 1 kept playing it and playing it.”

For Sharon Corr, reuniting with her siblings on stage has been particularly meaningful: “After spending a few years touring solo, it’s been a total thrill to be back on the road with my family.”

With a new album currently in development, South African audiences can expect more than just a nostalgic trip down memory lane. Fans will likely hear both classic hits and potentially some fresh material, offering a taste of what’s to come from the celebrated group.
