Team Silver, led by captain Collins “It’z Skarrra” Manyame, has emerged victorious at the inaugural Red Bull Locked In tournament, claiming the 2026 championship title in Cape Town.
The team secured their victory on 7 March 2026 during the intense 48-hour endurance competition held at Bellville Velodrome from 6 to 8 March. The event marked a groundbreaking moment in South African esports, combining high-stakes gaming with real-world challenges.
The Red Bull Locked In format pushed competitors beyond traditional gaming boundaries. Teams battled through Battle Royale, Wildcard, and Mixtape modes whilst navigating knockout mechanics and unexpected twists that could eliminate or revive teams at any moment.
The tournament’s unique structure demanded not only gaming skill but also stamina, strategy, and adaptability from participants. Spectators, content creators, and the local gaming community gathered to witness the innovative competition unfold.
Emotional victory for champions
Team Silver member Julio Bianchi reflected on the intensity of the experience: “Preparation can only take you so far. After that, you have to take a few leaps of faith. What started out as fun and games quickly became a rollercoaster of emotions.”
