Robertson police are investigating the murder of a 35-year-old man.

The deceased was stabbed in the early morning hours of Sunday 23 April in Mahlangu Street.

“After a night out the deceased was with three females on their way home,” a spokesperson for the Robertson police related. “Later they discovered they were being followed by three other men.”

Two of the men following them were armed with knives.

“There was an argument among the men,” the spokesperson said. “They were all speaking with a Sotho accent according to one of the eyewitnesses. One of the eyewitnesses then noticed the deceased was bleeding profusely from his neck and then he collapsed.

“After the man was stabbed the three suspects fled the scene. The victim was then transported to hospital in a private vehicle. He unfortunately succumbed to the single stab wound in his neck. The motive for the attack is not yet known at this point of the investigation.”
