Get ready to dust off your picnic blankets and dancing shoes – the Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts are back with their most exciting lineup yet.
Starting this November, Cape Town’s most popular outdoor music series will transform the iconic botanical gardens into the city’s hottest weekend destination. Every Sunday for the next five months, music lovers can catch world-class acts performing against the breathtaking backdrop of Table Mountain.
The season kicks off in style on 23 November with Mi Casa, South Africa’s favorite pop trio known for their soulful vocals and infectious grooves. From there, the lineup reads like a who’s who of local and international talent.
Rock fans won’t want to miss Prime Circle and Jesse Clegg sharing the stage on 30 November, while Afrikaans music lovers can catch Karen Zoid and Francois van Coke celebrating a decade of their hit “Toe Vind Ek Jou” on 7 December.
The festive season brings special treats, including viral sensation The Kiffness on 28 December and a New Year’s Eve spectacular featuring Mango Groove alongside The Billy Joel Experience. For the first time, concert-goers can bring their own alcohol to the New Year’s Eve show.
What makes this season special is its incredible diversity. Desert blues master Bombino will bring Tuareg rhythms from Niger to Cape Town, while the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra offers everything from Piazzolla tangos to a family-friendly show featuring Peter and the Wolf.
Electronic music fans can look forward to Goldfish turning the gardens into the city’s biggest dance floor, and Whitney Houston tribute act Belinda Davids promises goosebump moments with “The Greatest Love of All.”
Local favorites like Msaki, Jeremy Loops, Thandiswa Mazwai, and Matthew Mole round out a lineup that truly offers something for every musical taste.
“The Summer Sunset Concerts are about connection, joy and the beauty of experiencing good music in harmony with nature,” explains Sarah Struys, Kirstenbosch’s Events and Tourism Manager. “This year’s lineup is possibly our most exciting yet.”
The concerts have become a Cape Town institution, combining world-class entertainment with one of the world’s most beautiful outdoor venues. Gates open at 16:00 each Sunday, with performances starting at 17:15.

With tickets selling fast every year, organizers recommend booking early. Adult tickets cost R360, youth (6-21 years) pay R225, and children under 5 enter free. New Year’s Eve tickets are R540.
