South African soccer fans have just over a day remaining to enter a competition for a fully sponsored trip to watch Bafana Bafana play at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.
The Department of Sport, Arts and Culture launched the Mzansi to the World Cup Lucky Fans Competition on Wednesday, offering 20 passionate supporters the chance to travel to either the United States or Mexico to attend one of the national team’s group-stage matches.
Entries close on Friday 1 May at 17:00.
The initiative forms part of the department’s broader commitment to unite the nation through sport and showcase South Africa’s football culture on the global stage.
Fans from all 16 Premier Soccer League clubs will have an opportunity to represent their teams, with additional wildcard entries ensuring supporters of all clubs can participate.
To enter, participants must visit the official DSAC website and upload a 30-second video demonstrating their passion for football, club loyalty, and why they deserve to represent South Africa at the World Cup.
“The department encourages all South Africans to take part in this exciting campaign by visiting the DSAC website, submitting their entries, and proudly showcasing the passion, diversity, and unity that define our nation,” the department said in a statement.
Winners will receive a complete travel package including international flights, accommodation, match tickets and ground transport.
The ministry of Sport, Arts and Culture will announce the winners on 5 May.
