Whilst most schools with 1st XVs still standing, Ermelo, Potch Gimmies, and Centurion, are eyeing promotion to the Shield division, schools like Hugenote and Potch Volkies aren’t competing for glory. They’re fighting for their lives in this division.

And in a twist that only schoolboy rugby can deliver, Potch Volkies supporters will spend this weekend doing the unthinkable: cheering for their bitter rivals, Gimmies, in matches that could determine whether Volkies face the nightmare of relegation.

High-flying Centurion have been one of the form teams, but with only two sides remaining in the playoffs, they’ll need dominant performances to keep pace with schools fielding four teams. Dinamika will fancy their chances of causing an upset and throwing the promotion race wide open.

Potch Volkies vs Brandwag

Win and Volkies stay alive. Lose and they’re relying on results elsewhere going their way. This is cup final rugby for Volkies, everything on the line, no tomorrow if they fall short. Brandwag will smell blood and know that knocking off Volkies could shift the entire relegation picture.
