Various municipal service divisions of Drakenstein Municipality recently moved to new locations.
Seraj Johaar, municipal Director of Corporate Services, recently told Paarl Post thatas part of its good financial management and cost saving focus, the municipality had started reorganising municipal buildings 14 months ago to ensure their optimal use.
He said in the process it will save the ratepayer R4,5 million a year.
Residents should note the following divisions moved from the Nedbank building to the Paarl Civic Centre: Building Control, Land Use Planning Surveying, Environmental Management and Spatial Planning, Heritage and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
Economic Development and Tourism moved to the Mark Street Building, while the Internal Audit division moved to 60 Breda Street. The division of Organisational Efficiency moved from the Paarl Civic Centre to 216 Main Street, Paarl.
