Listeners of Radio KC can now also tune in to “the sound that sets you free” as they travel through the Huguenot Tunnel.

Harlan Cloete, chair of the radio station, confirmed that the new development came into effect in the tunnel on 18 January. According to Cloete they were approached by consultants working on this radio-tunnel project, and asked if they would be interested to be a part of it. He also acknowledges that this is a great privilege and opportunity for them.

The radio station’s General Manager Gavin Meiring also added: “KC listeners can now hear us throughout the Huguenot Tunnel and onto the eastern approach road (the N1 from the eastern tunnel entrance / exit up to approximately the Du Toit’s Kloof Lodge). This also allows for audio break-in’s in the event of an emergency exclusively for the purpose of advisory announcements related to the tunnel should it be necessary. We hope KC listeners keep listening on their travels”.
