Residents of Drakenstein will be relieved to know that the Drakenstein Municipality recently walked away with five awards at the Process Controller Awards ceremony.

On Thursday 30 March the national Department of Water and Sanitation hosted its annual Process Controller Awards ceremony in Saldanha Bay.

Drakenstein Municipality’s Wastewater Services team walked away with the following awards.

. Best Municipal Laboratory – Drakenstein Scientific Services, received by Chief Chemist, Nonkululeko Tyantsi.. Second runner up for Best Wastewater Treatment Works (WWTW>10Ml/d) – Wellington Wastewater Treatment Works, received by Senior Superintendent, Jurie Jumart.. First runner up for Best Process Controller (WWTW<0Ml/d) – Saron Wastewater Treatment Works, received by Terswin Ontong.. First runner up for Best Process Controller (WWTW>10Ml/d) – Wellington Wastewater Treatment Works, received by Hadley Davidson.. Ronald Brown Award –

According tot the municipality the Ronald Brown Award, was introduced by the Department of Water and Sanitation in memory of the late Ronald Brown, former Senior Manager: Wastewater Services at Drakenstein Municipality.

Drakenstein Scientific Services, Chief Chemist, Nonkululeko Tyantsi, scooped this award

“Under the leadership of the team’s new manager, André Kowalewski, and his support and guidance, the team has been able to prove that Drakenstein is still a force to be reckoned with,” the municipality said.
