On Friday (20 January) Cllr Sindile Gravel handed pairs of school shoes to needy learners at Imboniselo Primary in Mbekweni. He explained: “Part of the reason I pursued this campaign was that I believe every child needs to feel normal, just as any other child. It is also our responsibility, as Pan Africanist Congress of Azania [PAC] to invest in the education of this beautiful country. As founder of the PAC Robert Sobukwe once said: ‘To us education means service to Africa’.”Gravel expressed warm gratitude to one of his donors, Dr Junior Ndabaza, whose giving back to his community he appreciated. “Our education should not only be a commodity, but must also serve our people,” he pointed out. The shoes were distributed to needy learners identified by teachers at the school.
