A Du Toits Kloof Pass resident’s peaceful weekend turned terrifying when four masked and armed men gained entry to his farmhouse and left with multiple valuable items on Sunday.
Paarl police spokesperson, Captain Louise du Plessis, reported four males are being sought for questioning by Paarl police in connection with the crime.
“The suspects gained entrance to a house on a farm in the Du Toits Kloof Pass on Sunday (16 April), at about 18:50, while the complainant was in the residence. The suspects gained access to the premises by a presumably open door.”
As the complainant exited a room in the house the four suspects, wearing balaclavas, confronted him.
“One of the suspects had a firearm while the other three had knives. They then tied up the complainant and forced him to lie down on the floor. The suspects fled with various electronic items, clothing and cash to the value of approximately R1 400.”
The suspects fled from the scene after which the complainant managed to call for assistance.
